Below are the theory questions used at gradings for Nailsea, Yatton & Chew Valley schools of Tae Kwon Do. These questions are mainly for junior students adults can expect questions that are not on these lists but applicable to your grade. General theory
  • What is the meaning of white belt?
  • Name the five tenets of Tae Kwon Do?
  • What is your instructor’s name and what grade is he?
  • What is Sajo Jurugi?
Technical Theory
  • Point to your forefist
  • Point to your inner forearm/outer forearm.
  • Demonstrate these stances:
    Walking stance | Sitting stance | Attention stance | Parallel stance
Korean Terminology
  • What is the name of 4 directional punch in Korean?
  • Name in Korean:
    Stance | Punch | Block
  • Count to 10 in Korean
  • Name in Korean:
    Walking stance | Sitting stance | Attention stance | Parallel stance | Training hall | Training suit

9th KUP beltQuestions applicable to 9th KUP

General Theory
  • What is the meaning of yellow belt?
  • What is the meaning of Chon-ji and how many movements does it have?
  • When was Tae Kwon Do inaugurated (formed)?
  • Who was the founder of Tae Kwon Do?
  • Who is your grading examiner and what grade is he?
Technical Theory
  • Point to:
    the ball of your foot | knife hand | high section | middle section | low section.
  • Demonstrate these stances:
    L stance | Sitting stance
Korean Terminology
  • Name in Korean:
    Ball of foot | Knife hand | Sitting stance | L stance | High | Middle | Low | Front snap kick | Front rising kick | Press ups
